I was conditioned to present my first counter offer and was prepared for gamesmanship, posturing and hours of pacing around by both parties.The sales staff "simply" asked for my area of settlement and they were able to make a deal in minutes. The sales staff actually appreciated that most customers are relatively intelligent people who understand that both parties need to benefit from the deal (for the dealer to make money AND for the customer to feel as if he/she got a good and fair price). At most dealerships, this "simple" process would have been a silly back and forth posturing game. I was conditioned to present my first counter offer and was prepared for gamesmanship, posturing and hours of pacing around by both parties.The sales staff "simply" asked for my area of settlement and they were able to make a deal in minutes.
